Khlongs and canal boats

Bangkok khlong boats are known for a fast Saen Saep commute and a slower weekend market, and they fit travellers who already use the BTS and want one water hop. The Chao Phraya orange flag is the temple boat.

The Khlong Saen Saep boat is a commute: low roof, spray, and a few coins; it links the old town edge toward Thonglor faster than a stuck Sukhumvit taxi at 17:30. Wear clothes you can dry; a 2026 ride is a few coins, not a tour price.

Chao Phraya orange-flag boats are the tourist-useful river, and Saphan Taksin is the BTS gate. The Tha Tien crossing to Wat Arun is 5 THB. Weekend canal markets such as Khlong Lat Mayom are a Saturday or Sunday morning, not a weekday plan. See getting around for rail first.
