10 days in Koh Chang and Koh Kood: Trat itinerary
Ride the Ao Thammachat to Ao Sapparot car ferry (80 to 150 THB, about 30 minutes), sleep White Sand or Klong Prao, then hop Boonsiri from Laem Sok (600 to 700 THB) to a quieter Kood bay.
East-Gulf islands off Trat are the stay if you want boats without Phuket. Start on Koh Chang, then Koh Kood; the pair page is Koh Chang and Koh Kood. Sleep four nights on White Sand, Klong Prao, or Kai Bae. Ferry Koh Chang runs Ao Thammachat to Ao Sapparot in about 30 minutes for 80 to 150 THB; Centrepoint to Dan Kao has been suspended since 2024. West-coast songthaews are often 100 to 200 THB. Than Mayom waterfall is 200 THB. Boats and songthaews beat a first-week scooter.
Hop to Koh Kood for five quieter nights. Boonsiri and Ko Kut Express leave Laem Sok in 1 to 1.5 hours for 600 to 700 THB. Trat Airport (TDX) is about 17 km from Ao Thammachat and about 60 km from Laem Sok. Couples notes sit on honeymoon. For a named hideaway see Soneva Kiri. File the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) on visas and TDAC.
