14 days on Koh Samui: slow family itinerary
Land USM and stay put. One island is the point, with a hotel pool as the daily default and one park boat if the kids handle the swell.
Two slow weeks stay on Koh Samui so kids are not on landing boats. Fly Bangkok to Koh Samui; Samui Airport is a premium ticket, often 3,500 to 9,000 THB one way in 2026, and a 2026 Grab to Chaweng is often 200 to 400 THB. Sleep the fortnight using where to stay: Bophut, Choeng Mon, or a Lamai pool. Chaweng is louder. Bangkok Hospital Samui sits on the island. Family notes sit on family travel.
Book Ang Thong once if the park is open (300 THB). Skip a default Phangan hop with small kids; Lomprayah is about 30 minutes but landing days still cost energy. January to September is the Gulf window. Do not add Phuket. Official Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) steps are on visas and TDAC.

No boat. Pool hotel. Learn Grab and the resort shuttle.
2 Beach reset
Shallow sand. Early dinner.
3 Village hour
Bophut Fisherman Village in the cooler hours.
4 Pool day
Hotel grounds. No scooter.
5 Second coast look
Choeng Mon or Lamai if the first bay is wrong.
6 Optional aquarium or temple
Short indoor or Big Buddha hour, then the pool.
7 Buffer
Rain plan: mall, spa hour, or a cooking class without knives for kids.
8 Ang Thong or rest
300 THB park fee if seas are flat. Skip if anyone is queasy.
9 Recovery day
Pool only after a boat.
10 North-coast swim
Choeng Mon morning. Shade by 11:00.
11 Market hour
Night market if bedtime can move. Otherwise hotel dinner.
12 Spa or kids club
Quiet day. Confirm the exit car.
13 Pack and swim
Last shallow hour. Laundry if you fly long-haul tomorrow.
14 Exit USM
Airport car. Same-day long-haul is tight.
Two weeks, one island, one optional boat
A Lomprayah hop to Phangan is about 30 minutes, but this page keeps kids on Samui. For a three-island adult hop use Gulf islands.
