Best time to visit Kanchanaburi
Kanchanaburi is known for a year-round river town and a seasonal waterfall walk, and November to February fits both. Stay two nights if Erawan and the railway are the trip.

Kanchanaburi is not Andaman logic, and the river town works all year. November to February is the comfortable walk, and Erawan looks better after rain and can close swimming when the water runs red. Call 034 574 222 or DNP 1362 the morning you go.
Trains still leave Thonburi, not Krung Thep Aphiwat, and see Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. Foreign adults pay 300 THB at Erawan for seven tiers, 65 to 70 km from town, and two nights if Erawan and the railway are both planned. Do not combine Ayutthaya on the same van.

- Nov to Feb: Cool walks. Book town rooms on Thai holidays.
- Late rain months: Fuller pools, slick stairs, possible swim bans.
- Any month: Thonburi train. Two nights if you want tier 7.
