Patong

Patong is known for Bangla Road after 21:00, not a first-timer swim week. Sleep here if the strip is the stay, and sleep Kata if you came for sand.

NightLoud after 22:00; earplugs or a soi off Bangla

Patong is the dense west-coast town: a usable beach by day and Bangla after dark, and rooms that face the strip get bass until late. A block off the road is quieter and still a walk, and beach clubs and the louder night sit on Phuket nightlife and nightlife districts.

A car from HKT is often 30 to 50 minutes, and the Smart Bus is 100 THB. First-timers who want a swim should open where to stay and book Kata or Kamala, and come to Patong for one night if someone insists.

When this town is the right pin

  • Yes: Bangla, a late room, a short HKT hop, a one-night add.
  • No: A first family swim week, a quiet villa, a boat-recovery stay.
  • Pair: One night here, then move to Kata or Kamala.

Common questions

Is Patong safe at night?
The strip is busy and lit. Petty theft and spilled drinks are the usual problems. Sleep off Bangla if you want quiet.
Better than Kata for a first stay?
No. Kata has the swim and the village. Patong has the night street.
