Visas and TDAC
Most Western passports now get 60 days visa-free on arrival for tourism. You still submit TDAC before the flight. This is not legal advice; recheck the Immigration Bureau and your airline 72 hours out.

TDAC is the digital arrival card that replaced the old paper TM6 for most air arrivals. Complete it on the official Immigration site. Scam copies exist. Type the government address yourself.
Visa-free 60 days covers a 14-day trip with room left. If you hold a passport that is not on the exemption list, you need an e-visa or a visa from a consulate before you fly.
Overland arrivals and air arrivals can differ. Cruise and private-air rules differ again. Use the same official page, not a blog comment from 2022.
Common questions
- When do you file TDAC?
- In the days before you fly, once your flight number is stable. Keep a screenshot offline.
- Does visa-free mean 60 days in, 60 days out, repeat forever?
- No. Immigration looks for tourism. Visa runs are a different hobby and not what this site is for.
