Koh Lanta beaches
Koh Lanta beaches are known for a long west-facing road rather than one postcard cove. Klong Dao fits first nights, and the south fits travellers who want fewer scooters.

Start at Saladan and count beaches south; klong Dao is the shallow first sand. Long Beach continues the strip; klong Khong and Klong Nin break the build. Kantiang is the photogenic south bay; the east-coast Old Town is wood houses and a half day when the west swell is ugly.
November to April is the swim, and May to October is chop and closed south resorts. A hotel pickup from Saladan to Kantiang can run 30 to 50 minutes, and see where to stay before you rent a scooter you do not already ride.
