Tubkaek

Tubkaek is known for a quieter west-coast sand and the Phulay Bay resort, and it fits travellers who want fewer walking-street scooters than Ao Nang. You will still use Ao Nang or a hotel car for most boats.

Tubkaek (Hat Tub Kaek) sits west of Ao Nang on the mainland, and the sand is quieter. Menus are thinner, and Phulay Bay is the flagship on this coast if the pavilion is the week. Railay is still a drive plus a longtail, not a walk.

KBV is farther than the 20 to 40 minute Ao Nang hop, and budget a longer taxi than the 400 to 800 THB Ao Nang band. Book this beach if you want space and already accept a car, and first-timers who want a walking street should stay in Ao Nang.

When Tubkaek is the right pin

  • Yes: A quiet sand, a resort week, sunset without walking-street scooters.
  • No: A backpacker row, a same-morning Railay climb without a booked car.
  • Pair: One Ao Nang dinner if you miss menus.

Common questions

Tubkaek or Ao Nang?
Ao Nang if you want dinner on foot. Tubkaek if you want a quieter sand and already have a car.
Is Phulay Bay on Railay?
No. It is a mainland Tubkaek stay with a KBV car, not a longtail pocket.
