Where to stay in Krabi
Krabi is known for two pins rather than a long strip: Ao Nang if you want cars and dinner, Railay if you accept a 15-minute longtail. Tubkaek fits a quieter west-coast stay.

Ao Nang is the first-timer default: menus, cars, and the Railay desk, and Railay is the no-road pocket. Tubkaek is the quieter west sand, with Phulay Bay on that coast, and krabi Town is a pier and a night market, not a beach hotel.
KBV to Ao Nang is 20 to 40 minutes and often 400 to 800 THB by taxi, and do not boat to Phi Phi the afternoon you land. Lock two nights, then add Koh Lanta if you want a slower island, and pair with getting around.
