Ao Nang
Ao Nang is known for cars, dinner, and the Railay longtail desk, and it is the default Krabi stay if you do not want a boat-only pocket. The longtail to Railay is about 100 to 150 THB and 15 minutes.

Ao Nang is the logistics beach: a walking street, hotel cars, and the south-end longtail to Railay. Shared boats are 100 to 150 THB and about 15 minutes in daylight, and Tubkaek is quieter to the west. Phi Phi boats are a morning outing, not an arrival-day add.
KBV to Ao Nang is 20 to 40 minutes, and a taxi often quotes 400 to 800 THB. Book the first two nights here unless the cliff pocket is the whole trip, and see where to stay and Bangkok to Krabi.
