Where to stay in Pattaya

Pattaya is known for Walking Street and a cheap east-gulf weekend, so sleep in Jomtien if you came to swim and Wongamat if you want the north cape. Central rooms only fit a stay that is really about the strip.

Pick the sand before the brand, and Jomtien is the swim default. Wongamat and Naklua sit north toward the Sanctuary of Truth, and central Pattaya is Walking Street; sleep there only if that night is the trip. A 2026 Grab along the beach road is often 60 to 150 THB.

Bangkok is 1.5 to 2.5 hours by road, and buses leave Ekkamai. Book the first two nights on Trip.com, then add a Koh Larn ferry if you want an island morning. Do not treat Pattaya as a first-week Andaman substitute after Bangkok.

Common questions

Jomtien or Walking Street for two nights?
Jomtien if you want a swim. Walking Street if the strip is the trip. Do not split one night each.
Wongamat for a first stay?
Yes if the Sanctuary of Truth is tomorrow morning. No if you want a walkable night market without a Grab.
