Jomtien Beach
Jomtien is Pattaya's calmer swimming beach, a short ride south of Walking Street, and it suits couples and families who want the sea rather than the nightlife. Stay south if you came to get in the water.

Jomtien is the sand you actually enter, and Walking Street is a taxi north, not a hotel filter. Wongamat is the quieter north alternative toward the Sanctuary, and a 2026 Grab from Jomtien to Bali Hai for the Koh Larn ferry is often 80 to 180 THB depending on traffic.
Buses from Ekkamai still dump you in greater Pattaya, and name Jomtien on the transfer pin. Pair a swim day with Hua Hin only on a different week; they are different gulfs and different crowds. See getting around for baht-bus notes.
When Jomtien is the right pin
- Yes: A swim, a longer stay, a quieter evening than Beach Road.
- No: A Walking Street crawl as the whole trip.
- Pair: Koh Larn from Bali Hai, not a second sand hunt.

Common questions
- Is Jomtien quieter than Walking Street?
- Yes. It is still a gulf resort strip, not a village. It is not the Beach Road crawl.
- Can you walk to Koh Larn from Jomtien?
- No. Grab or baht bus to Bali Hai, then the ferry.
