Phuket Old Town
Phuket Old Town is known for sino-Portuguese shophouses and a Hokkien lunch, and it fits one inland morning. It is not a first west-coast hotel.
Back to Phuket
Old Town is the inland grid east of the west-coast hotels, and walk Thalang Road for the Sino-Portuguese fronts, then eat. The food map lives on Old Town Hokkien and the Phuket food guide, and midday heat empties the sidewalks.
A 2026 Grab from Kata or Patong is often 30 to 50 minutes and a few hundred THB, and sleep on where to stay. Pair the streets with Big Buddha only if you already have a car, and do not add a Rassada boat the same morning.
One inland morning
- Go: 10:00 to 14:00. Shops open late. Lunch is the point.
- Eat: Hokkien mee, moo hong, local coffee. Not a beach grill.
- Leave: Back to the west coast before the evening taxi surge.

- Should you hotel in Old Town?
- Only if the streets are the whole stay. First-timers still sleep on the west coast.
- Old Town and Phi Phi the same day?
- No. Rassada is a morning pier. Keep the streets for a land day.
