Best time to visit Hua Hin

Hua Hin is known for a milder Gulf calendar than the islands, and November to April fits a first stay. Bangkok weekends still fill the town, but it remains quieter than Pattaya.

CrowdBangkok weekends and Thai long holidays

Hua Hin is the upper western Gulf, not Samui and not the Andaman, and November to April is the dry, busy window. June and July still function, and September and October are the months that actually get wet. Jellyfish warnings go up after heavy rain.

The southern train from Bangkok takes about four hours in any month, and long weekends sell out. Midweek is when the town feels quieter than Pattaya, and pair this page with day trips if Sam Roi Yot is why you came.

Month notes

  • Nov to Apr: Dry sand. Book before a Thai long weekend.
  • Jun to Jul: Usable mainland beach when you refuse an island hop.
  • Sep to Oct: Real rain. Keep an indoor market plan.
  • Any Friday: Bangkok traffic and full trains.
