Thailand Guide

Bangkok

Bangkok is the usual first stop. Sleep on Sukhumvit or in Siam for the BTS. Sleep riverside for the Chao Phraya. The Old City is for temples, not late nights.

Bangkok is the capital you land in: Grand Palace and river wats by day, BTS hotel strips at night. Give it two or three nights. Eat in Thonglor or Chinatown. Nightlife lives on its own pages.

From BKK, the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai is the cheap, predictable move. Grab and Bolt cover the last kilometer. Book a Trip.com airport car if you land late with luggage.

Districts

Sukhumvit and Thonglor: hotels, BTS Nana to Ekkamai, and most first-timer stays.

Riverside and Charoenkrung: the river, warehouse bars, and the Chinatown edge.

Old City and Rattanakosin: palace, wat circuit, and heat. Go early.

Siam and Silom: malls, BTS interchanges, and the Sala Daeng MRT link.

Sukhumvit if you want BTS and dinner options. Riverside if you want the river. Old City only if the palace is the whole point and you accept thin evening food.
