Silom and Sathorn
Silom and Sathorn are known as the office and embassy ridge, not a first-timer soi strip. Eat at Sala Daeng. Walk Convent Road. Book Mahanakhon SkyWalk if the view is the point.
Silom and Sathorn sit between Lumphini Park and the Chao Phraya: offices, embassies, and hotels that work if you have meetings or want the park at dawn. This is not Thong Lo. The useful food is Sala Daeng street stalls by BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Si Lom, plus Convent Road between Silom and Sathorn. Suan Phlu, off South Sathorn, is the sit-down dinner pocket.
King Power Mahanakhon is at 114 Narathiwas Ratchanakarin Road, a short walk from BTS Chong Nonsi. SkyWalk tickets in 2026 are 1,000 THB for adults from 10:00 to 15:30 and 1,200 THB from 15:30 to 19:00, covering the indoor and outdoor decks on floors 74 and 78. Children 8 to 12 and seniors 60 and over are 500 or 600 THB by the same clock. Check the operator board. A 2026 BTS tap across this knot is about 17 to 32 THB.
How to use the ridge
Stay on Silom if you want Sala Daeng food and the BTS/MRT cross. Stay on Sathorn if the hotel tower and a quieter night matter more. The river is a Grab or a walk plus heat to Saphan Taksin. Lumphini is the morning. Patpong stalls by Sala Daeng are souvenirs on a go-go block, not a food plan. The Silom nightlife page covers the bars.
| Who it fits | Trade-off | |
|---|---|---|
| Sala Daeng / Silom | Street food and the rail knot | Office crowds at 18:00. Thin character on Sundays. |
| Convent Road | A walkable eat street between the two roads | Hot at noon. Fine at dusk. |
| Suan Phlu / South Sathorn | Sit-down dinners | You will Grab home if you sleep on Silom. |

Common questions
- Is Silom a good four-night base?
- It works if you like the park and the rail. Move to Thong Lo or the river if evenings matter more than offices.
- Do you need a separate Siam hotel?
- No. Siam is a few BTS stops for the malls. Sleep on Silom if Lumphini or a meeting is the morning.
