Yaowarat Chinatown food walk
Come for rolled noodles, claypot seafood, and late fried dough, not a mall court. Night walkers who pay cash after 18:00 fit this strip. Monday is the slow stall night.
Yaowarat Road is the Chinatown dinner walk, not a lunch market. MRT Wat Mangkon Exit 1 puts you on the gold-shop strip. Stalls thicken after 18:00 and run hard until about 23:30. Last Blue Line trains are around midnight; plan a Grab if you stay later. Cash and PromptPay still beat most foreign cards.
Monday is the street-stall slowdown. Shophouses and a few seafood rooms stay open. If you only have one Chinatown night and it falls on Monday, sit indoors and skip the full soi crawl. For the daytime river markets, use the [Wang Lang and Talat Noi](/thai-food/wang-lang-and-talat-noi) page instead of stacking both on the same calendar.
Rolled noodles, fried dough, Plaeng Nam stews
Nai Ek Rolled Noodles (Nai Ek Guay Jub) is the peppery pork-offal bowl. Order `guay jub` with extra pepper. A 2026 bowl is 60 to 100 THB. Go early in the evening if you refuse a queue. This is a sit-down shophouse, not a folding table on Yaowarat itself.
Pa Tong Go Savoey is the Michelin-listed fried-dough shop. A plate of `pa tong go` with condensed milk, pandan custard, or savory dips is 50 to 60 THB. It is a late snack, not dinner. Plaeng Nam Road, a quieter lane off the gold strip, is the stew and duck-noodle pocket when the main road is a photo crush.
T&K versus Lek & Rut on Texas Lane
Soi Phadung Dao is Texas Lane, the seafood alley off Yaowarat. T&K Seafood and Lek & Rut sit as rival claypot rooms. Both do grilled seafood, fried rice, and drunken noodles at tourist-plus prices. Pick one queue. Do not compare two tables in one night. Share plates. Confirm the seafood price before it hits the wok.
