Bangkok to Krabi
Krabi is known for Ao Nang beaches and the Railay cliffs. Fly to Krabi Airport (KBV). The night train is not the first-trip move.
Krabi Airport sits north of Krabi Town, not on the beach. Ao Nang is a 30 to 50 minute car depending on the causeway. Railay is a longtail from Ao Nang or from the Klong Jilad side, not a taxi to the sand. Tell the driver the beach or the pier, not "Krabi".
Thai AirAsia and Nok use Don Mueang. Thai Vietjet and Bangkok Airways use Suvarnabhumi. Match the Bangkok airport you already hold. A cross-town airport change can erase the flight.

After you land
Book a Trip.com airport car if you land after 20:00 or you are going to Railay. Shared vans dump you in Ao Nang or Town and call it done. From Ao Nang, longtails to Railay East or West leave from the beach and from Nopparat Thara. In the southwest monsoon, treat the last boat as optional. Check on arrival.
Do not boat to Phi Phi the same afternoon you landed. Sleep on the Krabi side first. Lanta is a separate morning: see Krabi to Koh Lanta.

Common questions
- Krabi or Phuket airport?
- KBV if Ao Nang, Railay, or Lanta is the base. HKT if the west-coast Phuket beaches are the base. Do not land at the wrong one to save a few hundred baht.
- Can you reach Railay without a boat?
- No useful road. The longtail is the last mile. In a wet afternoon, sleep Ao Nang and go at 08:00.
- Is the night bus worth it?
- Almost never on a first trip. The flight is the day you get back.
